Chocolate is good for your hearing

In good news for the chocoholics a recent study has revealed the benefits of chocolate consumption. A team of researchers in Korea conducted a rigorous nationwide study of the chocolate consumption of 3,575 subjects—between 40 and 64 years old—and the results were startling: Hearing loss was significantly lower for those who regularly consumed chocolate. *https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30935024

The rate of any hearing loss (unilateral or bilateral) in the subjects who consumed chocolate (26.78%) was significantly lower than that in those who did not (35.97%).

Even better, the researchers concluded that "the severity of hearing loss was inversely correlated with the frequency of chocolate consumption." In other words, the more often you eat chocolate, the better your odds of avoiding severe hearing loss.

Before you stock up on chocolate its probably a good idea to have a hearing test to check what damage may be already done, choose a local and independent clinic. Of course you also need to consider that hearing protection is an important part of the damage prevention strategy.
